Why I Do Weight Watchers

I didn’t want to be on a diet for the rest of my life. I wanted to change my bad habits for the rest of my life. I knew going in there was not a particular food group I was willing to give up forever. For one thing I believe our bodies needs nutrients from every group. I needed to learn how to prepare and consume them in a healthy way. One surprising bonus that I got when I joined Weight Watchers was the support. I have an amazing family and I was completely emerged in my own little world so much that I didn’t realize how much I needed the support. In fact, I found walking in a meeting down right intimidating. What could I gain from this uncomfortable situation? After I started attending the meeting my group became a new safe zone, a new kind of family. I have found friends there that share a part of me that my family can’t understand. They get me. I like to say I found friends I didn’t even know I needed. Another aspect of Weight Watchers that I love is the science and research they do. If you follow health groups that are not tied to a particular special interest, they are all saying we need to watch sugars, saturated fats, and calorie intake. Most major nutritional research also supports protein as an important component in a healthy diet and most health organizations number one theme is moderation. How do you learn moderation living in a I want it all kind of world? We live in a world of excess everything. We have to train our brains against this mentality. Weight Watchers also puts an emphasis on moving more. I’ll be the first to tell you , I’m not an athlete but I have learned to embrace new adventure with confidence. Weight Watchers is the total package. It has given me the tools to improve every aspect of my daily living. Whether it be nutrition, friendship, movement or just truly living life, it has empowered me to live fully and move toward a healthier life ..
