Why I Chose Weight Watchers

img_0327-2I started doing Weight Watchers because it was a program that I could fit into my everyday life and still enjoy eating the kinds of foods I loved. It’s not a program of deprivation. Weight Watchers gives it’s members freedom to continue with what’s familiar, while teaching us to live that life better. It works on the whole person not just what you are putting your mouth. Also, I could do the program and be successful without being a gym rat or running five miles a day. At first I really wasn’t all about that group meeting kind of thing. I actually found it quite intimidating. Like a kid at a new school. It didn’t take me long to figure out we all had a story and on many levels we were a lot alike and on some levels we were completely different. Just like real life! My group just became another component of this thing called life. Except this group in a lot of ways got me more than even my closest friends and family. We have that common bond of wanting to live a healthier, happier life. We all feel the pull of the outside world drawing us to a life of chaos and indulgence. Weight Watchers teaches us and gives us the tools to succeed in overcoming those pulls while still living in harmony with friends and family. You don’t have to say, “I can’t have that. I’m on a diet.” You learn to live everyday life without being in that I can’t have mode. No, I can’t have unlimited trips to the donut shop and shop in the regular sized clothing.  I can eat a satisfying alternative that doesn’t appear or taste like “diet” food at all. That’s why I chose Weight Watchers, it is a lifestyle not a diet. I hate diets!
